A last minute update of the Qwickly Attendance tool within Blackboard Learn was performed over the weekend. If you have already done so, this update requires that you re-setup any left-side Table of Contents (ToC) menu links, and the tool’s initial setup for taking Attendance.
In your BbLearn courses, if you have already made a Table of Contents tool link to the tool named simply “Qwickly Attendance”, please delete that and the Grade Center column it may have created during setup (if you are giving points for attendance). Please make a new left-side ToC tool link using the tool named “Qwickly Attendance (LTI)”. When creating this ToC link, remember you can name it whatever you want, and it doesn’t have to stay Qwickly Attendance (LTI). You will then need to setup the tool itself again with your preferences before taking attendance.
The benefits of making this switch to an LTI tool include:
- Ability to take Qwickly Attendance with you if/when there is a future migration to Blackboard Learn Ultra.
- Bug fixes and new features can be delivered without any separate updates; there will be no need to wait on release of a new version.
- Access to a free trial of Qwickly Attendance Pro, their newest product that streamlines data from Qwickly Attendance into reporting customized to meet campus needs. (This has not been turned on)
