There will be a planned emergency network maintenance for the wireless in Alumni and Hull Student Union and the wireless and wired networks for M-Street, Nutt, and University Commons, on Saturday, February 6th, starting at 8:00 am and lasting until noon. During this time, the system will require several restarts, which will result in intermittent or unavailable connectivity in the mentioned locations.
Several issues identified today caused multiple outages with the wireless system. Network Services worked with the wireless vendor and identified several changes required to fix the original problems and improve service. The first of these changes will occur on Saturday. It will involve some hardware connectivity changes and applying software updates, which should resolve the bugs that caused the service outages. Additional non-emergency maintenance periods will be announced later to make changes to the network configurations for M-Street and Nutt, but these are less urgent at this time.
