Infrastructure Services is a small team inside of the Office of Information Systems that reports to the Infrastructure Systems and Services Manager. Infrastructure Services manages the university’s data centers and servers that provide all the services to meet the needs of the university community. We are specifically responsible for all server hardware and software in all university data centers. This includes servers, storage, network cabling, virtual desktop infrastructure, hypervisors, and server operating systems. We are also responsible for core services such as Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP as well as maintaining backup and disaster recovery infrastructure and strategies.
Infrastructure Services directly supports all other OIS departments as well as many departments on campus by providing compute and storage resources for servers and virtual desktops. We also support students, faculty, and staff by providing email and other services through Office 365 and by providing network storage locations like the T, U, and I Drives.
Most of our work is behind the scenes, but we are happy to meet with students, faculty, and staff about any of the services we provide.
