In case you have not heard yet, Arkansas Tech University is in the process of switching from Tegrity and ShareStream for lecture capture and media management to the Kaltura video platform. Information on Kaltura can be found on our new public video portal at http://video.atu.edu. There is a tab at the top titled What is Kaltura? which has several Kaltura-produced videos about their applications. It is highly recommended that you check out those short videos as well as others that are in the Kaltura Learning tab. Also, in the All Channels tab, you will find a sub-category titled End-user Training Channel where you can find a recording of one of the training sessions held last month, plus a short Tech-specific video on how to publish videos from your “My Media” repository to your courses as content items. You can also go directly to this video at https://video.atu.edu/media/Adding+Kaltura+Media+to+Blackboard/1_67v861yk . The My Media repository can be accessed by either logging into video portal at the top right using your OneTech credentials and then clicking on your name, or logging into Blackboard Learn and clicking on Tools in the left side navigation (outside of any courses). This My Media repository is where all of your video assets reside, whether you create new ones or have Tegrity videos being migrated over. All instructor-created Tegrity videos from Fall 2017 forward are set to be migrated over, however, due to unexpected delays this automated process is not set to begin until Dec 23rd. Once this process completes, hopefully in just a few days, you will be able to begin populating your courses with your videos. This will be necessary since Tegrity is going away on Dec 11th and any old Tegrity links that may have been copied from previous semesters will be broken. Note: videos from the 2017 & 2018 Winter Intersession courses have already been manually migrated over to Kaltura and are in the respective instructor’s My Media repositories. If you are teaching a 2019 Winter Intersession course and need videos from a previous Fall or Spring semester course, please let us know right away which course you need so we can get them manually migrated for you.
