The Office of Information Systems is excited to announce a new feature being added to the Webex Meetings application called Webex Assistant. Starting on Monday, December 7th, Webex Assistant will be available for all ATU Faculty and Staff.
Webex Assistant allows Meetings to generate closed captioning which is recorded as part of the meeting (if the meeting is recorded) and can also be displayed live across the bottom of the screen during the meeting. In addition to this, Webex Assistant can respond to voice command triggers to “highlight” sections of the resulting closed captioned text to mark things as notes, decisions, items to follow-up on, etc. It can also be used to verbally set up a follow-up meeting. Webex Assistant can therefore help you create these notes and follow-up items dynamically and easily as part of the conversation instead of needing to manually make them.
The resulting highlights/notes/decisions/etc can be viewed later on your Webex portal even if the meeting and the closed captioning weren’t recorded.
Please note that the Webex Assistant licensing is only available to staff and faculty and is not available to students at this time.
