There will be a planned University-wide network maintenance on Sunday, November 5th, starting at 4:00 am and lasting until noon. During this time, there will be periods of no internet or network connectivity for wired, wireless, and Voice over IP (VoIP) phones.
This maintenance will allow Network Services to apply bug and security patches to address the following:
- A recently announced security vulnerability which could impact campus network hardware.
- A software bug that caused a memory leak and subsequent software crash on the university’s core networking equipment, which resulted in an outage on Monday, October 23rd.
- A software bug that causes occasional software crashes for the in-room wired/wireless network units in M-Street, Nutt, and University Commons.
Actual connectivity losses are not expected to last for the full maintenance duration, however, the entire window is reserved.
