Tech Tip Tuesday Week 6: MFA & Duo

Welcome back to Tech Tip Tuesday, where we give you an inside scoop on all things technology here at ATU! Today’s Tech Tip is all about MFA.

What is that? MFA stands for multi-factor authentication!

Over the last few years, you’ve probably noticed your accounts requiring a second form of authorization before logging in, most likely via a push notification.

While these can seem like a hassle, they are important for two reasons:

  1. It’s a second way to prove your identity.
  2. Two factors are always better than one.

ATU has an MFA, called Duo.

The easiest way to use Duo is by following the instructions to download and set up the app when logging in to Blackboard or OneTech. Once you have the app set up, make sure you allow push notifications for the quickest way through the authentication process.

Also, NEVER give away your Duo code or approve a push notification you did not immediately request. This is an indication that someone is attempting to get into your account, and likely already has your password.

If this occurs, change your password immediately, and contact the Campus Support Center at one of the following:
