This is a follow-up to our previous communication regarding the upcoming retirement of Banner 8 Self-Service (SSB 8). As a reminder, our vendor, Ellucian, has announced that Banner 8 Self-Service will be officially decommissioned in early January 2026.
To support this transition, OIS has been actively working to move campus services and tools to Banner 9 Self-Service (SSB 9). Our goal is to remove all remaining SSB 8 links from campus systems by December 1, 2025.
✅ What We’ve Done So Far:
- Created a new Banner 9 menu that mirrors the structure of the SSB 8 menu.
- Added helpful link descriptions in both menus to indicate which SSB 8 links will be retired and their SSB 9 equivalents.
- Updated OneTech cards to replace SSB 8 links with their modern SSB 9 counterparts.
- Added links to Ellucian’s Banner baseline SSB 9 applications under the appropriate tabs in both menus.
- Worked with key offices (Admissions, Ozark, and Graduate School) to implement Slate, reducing reliance on the Banner Admissions Application.
🔧 Ongoing and Upcoming Work:
- Continue reviewing and updating all remaining links to ensure a smooth transition from SSB 8 to SSB 9.
- Prepare for back-end changes related to Ellucian’s new menu structure.
- Collaborate with functional offices to document key business processes in SSB 9.
While not every individual task will be documented, we are focusing on high-value and frequently used processes to support a smooth user experience.
We’ll continue providing updates as we make progress. If you have questions or need assistance during this transition, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thank you for your support as we modernize our systems to better serve you.
