There will be a university-wide network maintenance on Thursday, October 9th, starting at 4:30 pm and lasting until 11:00 pm.
Prep work for the maintenance will begin at 4:30 pm and last until 5:00 pm. This prep work will involve taking the redundant wireless controllers and redundant network access control systems offline. While intermittent connectivity or a wireless system outage are not expected for this period, one or more periods may occur. If one or more outages do occur during this period, wireless connectivity on the Russellville and Ozark campuses and wired and wireless connectivity in the residence halls will be impacted.
At 5:00 pm, the university-wide network maintenance period will begin. Work is currently planned to end by 11:00 pm. During this time, one or more network connection interruptions are expected for the entire university, including all wired and wireless connections. Efforts are being made to minimize the time of connectivity loss, however, multiple periods of connectivity loss are expected.
This maintenance period will allow Network Services to relocate the Russellville campus network core equipment from its existing locations to its new home in the telecommunication shelters. This equipment move will help improve network service redundancy at the university. By the end of the maintenance period, all buildings on campus should be connected to the equipment in one of the telecommunication shelters, and their redundant connectivity to the second shelter will be built in the coming weeks.
