In our ongoing efforts to research and implement improvements to the WiFi experience for new and evolving technologies, the following changes will take effect on August 9th, 2026.
What is Changing?
· ATU-HomeDevices-5g will be disabled.
· ATU-HomeDevices will broadcast both the 5 GHz and the older 2.4 GHz networks. Previously, this WiFi was 2.4ghz only.
What is the Impact?
Returning students and departments whose devices are configured to connect to ATU-HomeDevices-5g will need to reconfigure them to connect to ATU-HomeDevices. The WiFi password that you got from your mydevices.atu.edu portal will work for ATU-HomeDevices just as it did for ATU-HomeDevices-5g.
Why is this Change Being Made?
This will simplify the WiFi experience and reduce confusion on which network to connect home devices to. Capable devices will still connect to the 5ghz on ATU-HomeDevices.
